Senior Code Review of a Diff With Severity Labels
Prompt
What the change is meant to do: {{PR_PURPOSE}}
The diff (unified format, with enough surrounding context): {{DIFF}}
Team conventions or style guide notes: {{CONVENTIONS}}
Review for, in priority order:
1. Correctness: logic errors, unhandled cases, off-by-one, null handling, error paths, concurrency.
2. Does it do what the stated purpose says, and nothing unrelated?
3. Tests: are the important behaviors tested, and could the tests pass with the bug present?
4. Readability: names, function size, comments that explain why, consistency with the codebase.
5. Maintainability: duplication, coupling, hidden assumptions.
For each finding, give: severity (Blocker / Should fix / Nit), file and line, the quoted code, what's wrong, and a concrete suggested change. Group the findings by severity, Blockers first.
End with a two-line summary: approve, approve with changes, or request changes, and the single most important thing to fix. If the diff is too large to review well, say so and suggest how to split it. Only comment on code in the diff.
