Exemplar Answers at Three Levels for Modelling
Prompt
Question or task: {{QUESTION}}
Class: {{GRADE_OR_YEAR}} {{SUBJECT}}
Rubric or mark scheme (paste it): {{MARK_SCHEME}}
Write three exemplars:
1. A secure but basic answer, a middle-level answer and a top-level answer, each written in a believable student voice for this age, not a polished adult voice.
2. Make the differences between them specific and teachable: depth of explanation, use of evidence, vocabulary, structure. Don't make them differ only in length.
3. After each one, give the mark or level it would earn against the pasted mark scheme, quoting the descriptor it meets and the one it just misses.
Then write:
- a 5-step class activity where students rank the three answers and justify the ranking before seeing the marks
- the two edits that would move the middle answer to the top level
Constraints: the content of every exemplar must be accurate, apart from any deliberate weaknesses you label. Use the mark scheme exactly as pasted, and don't invent levels it doesn't have.
Output: the three exemplars without marks (for students), then a teacher page with the marks, descriptor quotes, activity and edits.
