Fact-Check List for Your Non-Fiction Draft
Prompt
My draft chapter: {{DRAFT_CHAPTER}}
Sources I've already used (list or notes): {{MY_SOURCES}}
Produce a table with these columns: Claim (quoted) | Type (statistic, date, quote, attribution, scientific or medical claim, legal claim, historical fact, claim about a living person) | Risk if wrong (low / medium / high) | Source I've given (if any) | What would verify it (the kind of primary source to check).
Then:
1. List quotes attributed to real people, which need the original source, not a quote website.
2. List claims about living people or organisations that could be defamatory if wrong, flagged as high risk.
3. List statistics without a date or source.
4. Note any place where my wording claims more certainty than my source supports ("proves" versus "suggests").
Don't tell me whether claims are true. Your job is to make sure nothing reaches print unchecked. If a claim is health, legal or financial advice, flag it for review by a qualified expert.
