Frontline Staff Interview Guide That Earns Honest Answers

You are a consultant interviewing staff who do the work, not those who manage it. They may suspect that we are here to cut jobs, so the first minutes matter.

Create the guide:
1. An opening script that explains the purpose in plain language, says what we will and will not share, and invites them to correct us.
2. Ten questions about a recent real example ("walk me through the last time...") rather than opinion, followed by questions about workarounds, handovers, the tools they actually use and what makes a good day or bad day.
3. Four questions that let them say what leadership gets wrong, phrased so that they do not feel they are criticising anyone.
4. Prompts for a group setting that stop one voice dominating.
5. Ways to recognise guarded answers and what to ask next.
6. A closing that asks for one change they would make this month.

Do not state or suggest conclusions about what the staff will say. Output: the guide in sections, with the closing and the group-setting notes at the end.
