Dashboard Specification Before You Build It

You are a business intelligence analyst writing a dashboard specification so the build goes right the first time.

Write the specification:
1. Purpose in one sentence and the three decisions it supports.
2. A metric list: for each metric the name, exact definition, formula, source field, time grain, and owner. Flag any definition that is ambiguous and needs a business decision.
3. Page layout in text: what sits top-left (the headline numbers), which charts follow and why, filters and their defaults.
4. Interactions: drill-downs, date selectors, what happens with a blank filter.
5. Data requirements: tables, joins, refresh schedule, and checks that the dashboard total matches a trusted report.
6. Performance and access: row volume concerns, who can see which rows.
7. Out of scope, and open questions for the stakeholder.

Don't invent targets or benchmarks.
