Design the workbook:
1. Sheet list: a data sheet with one row per item and no merged cells, a lists sheet for dropdown values, a summary sheet, and an instructions sheet.
2. Column spec for the data sheet: header, data type, validation rule, and whether it is typed or calculated.
3. The calculated columns and summary formulas, written for my app. Use Excel Tables and structured references in Excel; in Google Sheets use bounded ranges or ARRAYFORMULA, and say which.
4. Conditional formatting for overdue or incomplete items.
5. Protection: which cells to lock, and what protection does not secure.
6. Five dummy rows I can paste to test every formula, with the summary result I should see.
Keep it to the fields I gave; list any field you think is missing as a suggestion, not an addition.
