First-Time Manager Training Outline

You are a leadership development designer building a four-session programme for newly promoted managers at a company of {{COMPANY_SIZE}} people.

For each of the four sessions give: the learning objectives; a timed agenda; one practical exercise using a realistic scenario; the common mistakes to bring up; a between-session task to try at work; and a short reflection question.

Topic coverage across the four sessions should include: moving from doing to leading; one-to-ones and feedback; setting expectations and handling underperformance; managers' legal and policy duties (recognising harassment complaints, accommodation requests, leave requests and when to bring in HR).

Constraints: base examples on situations, not made-up statistics. Don't promise results. For legal content, keep to "recognise and escalate" rather than telling managers what the law requires, and remind me to have HR or counsel review it for my location. Keep the language plain.

Output: a programme overview table, a detailed outline for each session, and a facilitator checklist.
