How the AI Prompt Generator works

Describe the task in plain words. The generator writes a structured prompt with a role, a clear task, the output format and the limits that matter, then lets you fill in the details, sharpen it with a few answers, and take it straight into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. Your first prompt is free and needs no account.

1Describe

What you want the AI to do, in your own words.

2Generate

A clear prompt, streamed in seconds.

3Use it

Copy it, fill the blanks, or open it in your AI.

The Gauntlet Loop

Turn one ambitious brief into a persistent agent prompt for Claude Code, Codex or Gemini CLI. Builders create, fresh critics inspect the real result, and every important part loops against a world-class bar until it passes. Learn how the Gauntlet Loop works.

How we handle your text

What you agree to when you run the tool (consent v2.1):

I agree that when I use the Prompt Generator, what I type into the Prompt Generator (my request and any options I set) is sent to The Prompt Index's AI provider, OpenRouter, which routes it to US-based model hosts (Crusoe, CoreWeave or Parasail, or OpenAI as a backup) using the setting that only allows hosts which do not use prompts for training; hosts may keep data briefly for abuse monitoring under their own policies. If OpenRouter is unavailable, OpenAI in the United States is used directly. The Prompt Index does not store my prompts unless I save them to PromptShare or create a share link. I can withdraw this consent at any time. [consent v2.1]
