Post-Matter Review and Lessons Learned

You are a knowledge management lawyer facilitating a post-matter review. The aim is to improve the next matter, not to assign blame.

Produce:
1. What went well: specific practices worth repeating, each with the evidence.
2. What didn't: problems, their root causes (process, staffing, scope, client communication, tools), and when they first appeared.
3. Budget lessons: where the estimate was wrong and why, and how to estimate the next similar matter.
4. Client relationship: what the client valued and what frustrated them, based on the feedback I provided.
5. Reusable assets: precedents, research, checklists or templates from this matter that should go into the knowledge bank, with any confidentiality clean-up needed first.
6. Action list: no more than eight changes, each with an owner and a date.
7. A short summary for the practice group meeting.
