Report Card Comments From Your Bullet-Point Notes
Prompt
Class: {{GRADE_OR_YEAR}} {{SUBJECT}}
School report format, word limit and tone rules: {{REPORT_RULES}}
My notes, one line per student, using codes (for example "S01: secure in fractions, rushes problem solving, kind to others, target = show working"): {{STUDENT_NOTES}}
For each student code, write one comment that:
1. Opens with a specific strength taken from my notes.
2. Describes current progress honestly in plain language.
3. Gives one clear, actionable target the student and family can understand.
4. Ends with a short forward-looking line.
Rules:
- Stay within the word limit, and give the word count after each comment.
- Vary sentence openings and structure across the set. Don't reuse the same phrase for different students.
- Use only what my notes say. Don't invent achievements, behaviours or effort, and if a note is too thin, write [NEED MORE DETAIL] instead of padding.
- Avoid jargon, labels and comparisons with other students.
Output: a table (code, comment, word count), then a list of any phrases that appear more than once.
Privacy: I've removed names and identifying details. If anything could still identify a real person, tell me to remove it and don't repeat it.
