Braid Your Subplots Into the Main Plot

Work through this:
1. For each subplot, name its function: does it complicate the main goal, mirror the theme, reveal character, or supply a reveal the climax needs? A subplot with no function gets flagged.
2. Show where each subplot touches the main plot now, and suggest where its crisis could collide with a main-plot turning point for maximum pressure. Use only characters and events I've mentioned.
3. Build a grid: rows are subplots, columns are chapter ranges (beginning, early middle, midpoint, late middle, climax, resolution). Each cell gets a short note of what happens or "absent".
4. Flag any stretch where one thread vanishes for too long, and any subplot that resolves after the main climax and might deflate the ending.
