Make Your Antagonist Make Sense
Prompt
My antagonist: {{ANTAGONIST}}
What they do in the plot: {{ANTAGONIST_ACTIONS}}
My protagonist and the book's central conflict: {{PROTAGONIST_AND_CONFLICT}}
Analyse:
1. Goal and logic: what does the antagonist want, and does every action I've listed follow from it? Flag actions that exist only because the plot needs them.
2. Point of view: write 3-4 sentences summarising the story as the antagonist would tell it, as if they were the hero. Use their own reasoning, not mine.
3. Mirror: how does the antagonist reflect, invert or tempt the protagonist? If there's no link, say so.
4. Competence: where does the antagonist act too stupidly or too conveniently? Cite the specific action.
5. Escalation: does their pressure on the protagonist grow across the book? List the steps.
Then give me five questions to answer about the antagonist and suggest two moments where showing their reasoning would add depth. Don't rewrite any scenes, and keep any suggestions within the events I've described.
