Series Continuity Brief for Your Next Book

Act as a series editor preparing a continuity brief before an author starts the next book in a series.

Write the brief:
1. Where everyone is: each major character's location, situation, relationships, injuries or changes, and what they know at the end of the last book.
2. Promises to readers: unresolved threads, teased conflicts and relationships readers will expect to see develop. Mark each as "must address", "could address" or "can wait".
3. Established rules: world rules, character abilities and facts the new book must respect.
4. Conflicts with my plan: anything in my next-book plan that contradicts what's been established, with the source.
5. Recap needs: the 5-8 facts a returning reader needs refreshed and a new reader needs to know. Suggest where in the opening chapters each could come up naturally, as notes.
6. Series arc: how the next book moves the overall series question forward.

Keep it under 1,000 words, organised by heading. Don't invent events that aren't in my summaries, and mark anything you're inferring.
