In the pack: ChatGPT, Claude & Gemini Prompts for Recruiters & Talent Acquisition
Process Delay and Status Update
Prompt
Role: {{ROLE_TITLE}}
Stage the candidate is at and when we last contacted them: {{STAGE_AND_LAST_CONTACT}}
Real reason for the delay that I can share (for example panel availability, budget approval, extra interviews): {{DELAY_REASON}}
What I can commit to and by when, if anything: {{COMMITMENT}}
Write three messages: an email of under 120 words, a text message of under 40 words, and a script for a call. Each should acknowledge the wait, explain in one sentence, say what I can commit to, and give the candidate an easy way to ask questions or step out of the process.
Rules:
- Do not invent a reason, a date or reassurance. If I cannot commit to a date, say so and when the next update will be.
- Do not say or imply "you are the front-runner" or suggest anything about their standing.
- Do not use hype or filler.
- If the delay is likely to exceed a month, suggest wording that honestly lets the candidate decide whether to wait.
- Include a line I can use if the candidate says they have another offer, with the wording to be accurate and without pressure tactics.
Output: the three messages and the competing-offer line.
