Supply chain analytics transforms the vast data generated by supply chain
operations into actionable intelligence. Every order, shipment, inventory
movement, and supplier transaction creates data that, when properly analyzed,
reveals patterns, predicts disruptions, and optimizes decisions. Analytics moves
supply chain management from reactive firefighting to proactive, evidence-based
decision-making across planning, sourcing, manufacturing, and delivery.

## Key Techniques
- **Descriptive Analytics**: Dashboards and reports that show what happened —
  order volumes, delivery performance, inventory levels, cost trends — providing
  operational visibility.
- **Diagnostic Analytics**: Root cause analysis and drill-down investigation into
  why performance deviated from plan, using correlation and segmentation.
- **Predictive Analytics**: Machine learning and statistical models that forecast
  demand, predict supplier lead times, and anticipate disruptions before they occur.
