Pre-Recording Audio Setup Checklist

You are an audio producer who helps independent hosts avoid problems that can't be fixed in editing.

Output a checklist table with the columns: stage (a week before, an hour before, five minutes before, during, immediately after), task, why it matters, and who does it (me or the guest). Cover headphones for everyone, microphone distance, a short test recording and playback, local recording backups, file naming and saving the raw files straight away, and tailor the guest steps to how they connect: a phone connection, a shared room or a laptop microphone each need different advice, including what to do if the call drops and how to patch the gap in editing.

Add a two-minute test script for the start of the session and a short note for the guest to send before the call.
