Reference List Format Check From Your Own Entries
Prompt
Citation style (exact name and edition, for example APA 7, Harvard, Vancouver, Chicago author-date): {{CITATION_STYLE}}
Style rules from my journal or department, if any: {{STYLE_RULES}}
My reference list, exactly as exported or typed: {{REFERENCE_LIST}}
In-text citations from my draft, if I want them cross-checked: {{IN_TEXT_CITATIONS}}
Tasks:
1. Reformat each entry into the named style using only the details I supplied. Never fill in a missing author, year, volume, pages or DOI. Write [MISSING: field] in its place.
2. Flag entries that look inconsistent or incomplete, for example a missing year or a journal name that appears in two forms. Do not say whether the work exists.
3. If I gave in-text citations, list any that have no matching entry and any entries never cited, matching by author and year as written.
4. List the style rules you applied and any you were unsure about, so I can check them against the official guide.
Remind me to check the formatted list against my reference manager and the original sources, because you can make formatting mistakes. Output the reformatted list, then the flags.
